For Parents

Oftentimes a parent will have had no personal experience with instrumental music instruction.  But, like with most activities, practice makes perfect!  Encouraging your elementary school student to practice, even if it is only for 15 minutes, can make all the difference between success and “not so much” success.  Providing encouragement and empathizing with your child (stringed instruments are very hard to play at first) are essential tools in the parenting toolbox.  Staying interested in your child’s efforts will help them to stay enthusiastic about practicing.  Here is some more KUSD advice that will help your student succeed.
